Our clients during the session included the Arkansas Health Care Association, Arkansas Children’s Hospital, and The Nature Conservancy. Some highlights included helping with SJR8 and SB553.
SJR8 is the legislatively referred constitutional amendment on tort reform. This amendment has been sent to voters and will be on the ballot during the 2018 General Election.
SB553 created a certification process for Livestock Embryo Transfer Technicians. This new industry fills a void in Arkansas’ livestock industry by allowing producers to hire trained individuals who can assist with herd reproduction and management practices.
Republican State House Races – 2016 General Election
The 2016 General Election saw JCD Consulting running the campaigns of 11 Republican candidates for State Representative. This list included 3 incumbents, 4 open seats, and 4 challenger races. All 11 candidates won their election.
Included in this group of candidates was Carlton Wing of District 38 in North Little Rock. District 38 is often described as the most equally split district in the state, with many people being either solid Republican or Democrat. Our firm worked with Wing to create a message that resonated with a coalition of Republicans, soft Democrats, and Independent leaning voters to pull off a 52% victory.
Another highlight of this election cycle was Steve Hollowell. Steve was running in District 49, which includes parts of Cross, Monroe, and St. Francis counties. Steve ran against athree term incumbent in an area within the delta, which has continued to favor Democrats even as the rest of the state has turned red. Through targeted messaging in digital media, phones, and mail, Steve because the first ever Republican elected to this district winning with over 56% of the vote.
