This week marked the five-year anniversary of JCD Consulting Services. The transition from a dream, to taking the risk, to “oh wow, has it really been five years” seems to have happened in a blink of an eye.
As anyone who has done it knows, stepping out on your own is scary. And I was literally on my own for the first 15 months. After that time, I was lucky to make another transition, from being alone to building a team. That was always the goal and continues to be the best business decision I’ve made.
As we continue to grow, adding more services, clients, and team members, our mission remains the same: helping others improve their message, grow their network, and reach their goals. We still believe this can be done by:
Being respectful of each other, our clients and vendors, and any opposition that comes our way
Providing a meaningful service at a reasonable price
Taking ownership of our brand and the work we produce
Collaborating as a team to innovate, create, and expand possibilities
Keeping the focus on our client’s success
These values have helped us find success in our line of work. But we wouldn’t be where we are today without my first lobby client (Arkansas Health Care Association) and the group of candidates who gave me the chance to work on their campaigns that first cycle (we won 12 out of 12 that first General Election!).
I’m very thankful for everyone I’ve had a chance to work with over these first five years. As a kid, I never would have thought I’d be where I’m at today and know as many great people as I do. I’m confident our firm will continue to build upon our current success and I look forward to what the future holds.
